The knee the a hinge joint that connects the upper and lower leg. It is between the tibia and the femur. It is protected by the patella, and held together by a number of ligaments and tendons. The major tendons are the ACL (anterior cruciate ligament), MCL (medial collateral ligament) PCL (posterior cruciate ligament), and the LCL (lateral collateral ligament).
