Alternative Energy

What is alternative energy?

Alternative energy is any kind of energy that is not from a fossil fuel. They are also reuseable, unlike fossil fuels.

What is hydropower?

When water moves, it spins the turbines which are copnnected to a generator which produces energy. They don't have to be in a large dam, they can just be in a place where there is flowing water such as a river or a canal.

What is solar power?

Solar panels can be used for generating electricity and even making water hot. They also reduce the energy cost for homeowners and commercial companies while adding to their green commitments.

What is nuclear power?

Nuclear energy is when you split an uranium atom and that releases energy which creates steam which spin turbinhes that are connected to generator whichg makes electricity. Nuclear power makes up about 20% of the U.S. electricity production.
